Come to my Castle, my Castle of Grey
Come to my Castle, there’s no more to say
Come to my Castle and wither away …
Will you come to my, come to my Castle?

Go walk down the corridor, open the door –
You will enter a place where you’ve ne’er been before.
You’ve come to the castle that I call my own,
Where the colours are grey and you are all alone.

Just pass through the doorway and enter the hall,
Try and look for my servants – you’ll find none at all.
And though there are cobwebs, no spiders do weave:
There is no living thing, and there’s no way to leave.

Come to my Castle, my Castle of Grey
Come to my Castle, there’s no more to say
Come to my Castle and wither away …
Will you come to my, come to my Castle?

There is nothing of colour, there’s no black nor white.
There is nothing but grey – it’s my colour of fright.
Dust covers the furniture, windows are blind –
You don’t know why you’re there, and no answer you’ll find.

And still you will feel there’s my breath on the air.
If you listen, my heart will be beating … somewhere.
Hark, your feet leaven an echo – or maybe it’s me?
You’ll never escape, for your life’s meant for me.

Come to my Castle, my Castle of Grey
Come to my Castle, there’s no more to say
Come to my Castle and wither away …
Will you come to my, come to my Castle?

And then you will wake, maybe wake with a scream,
And you’ll find you’re at home – it was only a dream!
But then walk to a mirror, and look at your face
And you’ll find there’s no colours, but all shades of greys.

Come to my Castle, my Castle of Grey
Come to my Castle, there’s no more to say
Come to my Castle and wither away …
Will you come to my, come to my Castle?

Memories of laying down, but no memories of sleep.
In my memories I drown, but awake I cannot keep.
O my eyes I cannot open, I can’t even move my head.
To fly freely, I’m but hopin’
and my flame … and my flame … and my flame … and my flame…
I am not dead!

What’s these mountains that surround me? When I lay, there was but grass.
Brothers, sisters all around me turned to stone as time did pass,
When the moments turned to hours and millennia went by
And we lay as silent towers
And we slept … and we slept … and we slept … and we slept…
We did not die!

Fire burn – do not wither, flame!
Ages turn – won’t you call my name?
Breath – don’t leave me alone
I do not wish to turn to stone

Where’s the flame I held so dearly? Where’s the spark that was my soul?
O if only I’d see clearly, but I feel I am not whole.
There’s remembrances of fire and some heat I cannot hold
while I flew so high an higher
in my dreams … in my dreams … in my dreams … in my dreams …
My world’s grown old!

Fire burn – do not wither, flame!
Ages turn – won’t you call my name?
Breath – don’t leave me alone
I do not wish to turn to stone

O my world has grown so busy, time runs faster than it did,
leaves me feeling old and dizzy – this world isn’t mine a bit.
It’s the humans’ world to hurry and this time is theirs to keep.
I could try to wake an worry,
but my heart … but my heart … but my heart … but my heart …
I want to sleep.

Fire burn – do not wither, dreams
Ages turn – keep it as it seems
Sleep – let me lie alone
My heart will never turn to stone

Way down by the sea, near the whispering spray,
each mountain one time was a Drakon.
There’s never a motion as silent they lay,
but one day they’ll go and awaken.

Of days they are dreaming, a long time gone by,
of freedom and beauty and fire.
They used to be Lords of the heavens so high,
their dreams now may fly even higher.

They dream by the sound of waves kissing the beach,
of dragons no longer afraid.
When fire did reign, there was no need for speech,
and their power of thought still is great.

The day now has come that time moves too fast,
that we have to leave like the Drakon.
We are history now, since our future is past –
But one day we’ll go and awaken.
